This year, we are presenting Eight Best Canadian Awards and Four People’s Choice Awards.
We are also proud to announce this year’s recipient for the “Outstanding Contribution” Diversity in Film Award: Lisa Lu.
Additionally, three 2022 OVASIAN Impactful Awards will be handed out, and the recipients will be in attendance (either in person or virtually) to accept these awards.
“Outstanding Contribution” Diversity in Film Award – Lisa Lu
Bestowed the title of a “Living Legend” in China by the Government, 3 time Golden Horse winner, and internationally renowned actress and producer, Lisa Lu has worked in film, television and stage for over 60 years. Lisa is currently shooting her Hulu series Career Opportunities in Murder and Mayhem, opposite Mandy Patinkin, and voicing the role of Grandma Bai in the animated feature The Silk Road Rally! produced by the same people that brought you Shrek. Lisa’s recent credits include play Ah Ma in the Warner Brother’s feature Crazy Rich Asians, and playing the title role in The Disappearance of Mrs. Wu. On stage, Lisa was also the star of Stan Lai’s A Dream is A Dream, an eight hour play that she did annually pre-Covid, and toured in China. Lisa also recently played Lady Bracknell in the Chinese stage production of The Importance of Being Earnest at the National Theatre in Taipei, Taiwan; and the role of Regina in a Cantonese version of The Little Foxes, with the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre.
